TODAY'S LISTENING: Elizabeth Joan Kelly - Farewell, Doomed Planet!

Here is one where you've really got to immerse yourself in the complete album rather than dip in to obvious single type tracks, from Elizabeth Joan Kelly this is Farewell, Doomed Planet!

Experimental, textured and sometimes extremely minimal, it is an album about the apocalypse, Chernobyl wolves, pollution, space travel, existential dread and whales. Nothing ordinary about that, so give it a listen while you still can.

TODAY'S LISTENING: Coda Chroma - Start Again

This one is going to get you right between the ears, taken from the album Inside The Still Life this is Coda Chroma with a concise but punchy tune called Start Again. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Coda Chroma is the delightful Indie Pop project of singer/songwriter Kate Lucas and producer Damien Charles. They focus on oblique yet moving lyrics, dissident harmony, and shrewd production, with each song spinning in its own universe. As astronauts of the airwaves, we fully recommend it and once you've played it...start again!

TODAY'S LISTENING: Anastasia Elliot - Cigarettes & Gasoline

Today we have a rather dramatic pop production presented with a deliciously oddball video, the single is called Cigarettes & Gasoline by Anastasia Elliot. The song builds slowly but certainly sparks into life with an incredible amount of energy towards the end. We really loved the overall styling and sinister visuals.

TODAY'S LISTENING: B.L.Underwood - Analogue Experiments in the Dead of Night

More delightful electro today, this time from our very own B.L.Underwood (aka Mr Blu) with his latest solo release Analogue Experiments in the Dead of Night. The collection comprises of a series of electronic instrumentals made with new analogue synths from Behringer - Model D, Neutron and K2 and a few additions from Ableton Live. One track even includes a sample from some manic noise we made together way back in 1983. Atmospheric and sometimes a little disturbing, this should keep your ears twitching nervously.

TODAY'S LISTENING: Black Zinda - Bleed For Me

LISTENING POST: Homeless Echoes - Games In My Brain

Today we have Homeless Echoes with Games In My Brain. Apparently this was written in 2003 but is only being released now, even more strangely it has the feel of one of those wonderfully quirky electro tunes from the early 80s. A sort of funky in drainpipes earworm.

TODAY'S LISTENING: Paul Mosley and The Red Meat Orchestra - People Are Idiots

We like songs coming from a slightly different production angle, so that's why we're enjoying People Are Idiots by Paul Mosley and The Red Meat Orchestra. Taken from the new album You're Going To Die! - that's two truths told within two titles; along with the promise of junk percussion, sci-fi synths and pizzicato strings buoyed up the all-star singers of the Red Meat Orchestra’s call-and-response backing vocals. Don't be foolish, give it a spin.
